Field Athlete of the Week
Shannon Parks (Reading, Mass.) - Senior - Keene State
Parks was named LEC Field Athlete of the Week after she broke the school record in the hammer at 46.30 meters to finish third at the UMass Lowell Invitational, which ranks her first in New England and 12th in NCAA Division III this season. She also was seventh in the shot put at 11.53 meters, which is fifth-best in New England.
Rookie Field Athlete of the Week
Savannah Soleau (Niantic, Conn.) - Freshman - Keene State
Soleau was named the LEC Rookie Field Athlete of the Week after she placed third in the javelin (35.34m) took ninth in the shot put (10.87m) at UMass Lowell. Her mark in the javelin ranks seventh in New England and 44th in DIII this season, while her throw in the shot is 12th in New England.
Track Athlete of the Week
Alyssa Sirianni, Eastern Connecticut
Sirianni was named the LEC Track Athlete of the Week after placing second in the 400 hurdles (1:09.73) and fourth in the 100 hurdles (16.70) at Wesleyan (Conn.) University’s J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic. She ranks 14th in New England in 100 hurdles, and is 17th in the 400 hurdles.
Relay of the Week
Eastern Connecticut 4x800
The Warriors’ team of Carley Alston, Iris Bazinet, Elisabeth Rodil, Kayla LaMalfa won the 4x800 relay in a field of four teams with a time of 10:42.63 seconds at the Wesleyan’s Swanson Classic. They rank first in New England.
